INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS
SWACSM ANNUAL MEETING

The following instructions are intended to assist you in developing an effective poster presentation.  When one considers the amount of time, money, and energy that goes into a research project, it is important to present your work in a clear and concise manner.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prepare your poster presentation so that it will fit within a 4’ X  6’ poster board.
  1. You will need to provide your own thumbtacks or push pins.
  1. Arrive at the poster area at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the session.  This will allow ample time to organize your poster.
  1. To improve the reader’s ability to see the poster from 4 to 6 feet away, the font size used in the text portion of your poster should be at least 15-point.  Larger font sizes can be used for titles and legends if preferable.
  1. The poster should include an abstract, introduction (with brief review of literature), purpose, methods, results, conclusions, and references.  A 15-point font or larger should be used with all figures and tables.  Figures and tables should be clean, and not overly crowded with data.
  1. Authors must be present at their poster for the time period specified in the final program.
  1. Posters must remain on the board until the end of the designated poster session time period.  Authors should return within 30 minutes after this time to remove their poster.
